Q & A

(Q1) Are you Abram or Abraham?
Abram tried to carry out God's promise with his natural strength.  The result? Ishmael! (Genesis 16)  Abraham's allowing God's divine life to flow through him issued in Isaac. (Genesis 17)  Are you Abram or Abraham?

Human effort in flesh issues in wood, grass, and stubble; Divine enjoyment in spirit issues in gold, silver and precious stones. (1 Corinthians 3:12 )

(Q2) The Lord is life-giving, comforting and God's-will-seeking; are we? Because we are His duplication (John 12:24), every normal Christian should be a life-giver (1 John 5:16), a comforter (1 Corinthians 1:14), and a seeker of God's will (Ephesians 5:17).

(Q3) Christ is a Lion-Lamb.  To God and God's will, He is tender and obedient, like a lamb (Act 8:32). To the power of darkness and death, He is firm and victorious, like a lion (Revelation 5:5). How about us?

Christ is balanced in every way. We are not: when we are meek, we tend to be weak; when we are strong, we tend to be stubborn. Humble ones have no actions; capable ones are not humble.  Oh, He must increase but we must decrease. (John 3:30)

(Q4) Christ is a Serpent-Dove.  This is His speaking in Matthew10:16, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be therefore prudent as serpents and guileless as doves." Are we pure and prudent? Guileless ones are often lacking prudence and discernment (Hosea 7:11).  Though normal Christians are single-purposed doves, we need to be prudent to stay away from wolves.

(Q5) Have you learned the lesson of retreating into God as your refuge?  Have you learned the lesson of not reacting to situations?  Have you learned the lesson of enjoying Christ in midst of frustrations and failures? (Psalm 23:5)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xu2xVQPpdY

You have been wronged.  You have been misunderstood.  You feel bad and have a lot to say.  At this juncture, can you hold your tongue?  Can you quietly release your feelings to the Lord?  Can you calmly bring your reasoning to Him?  Let storms blow and roar, but let's be kept in Him.

(Q6) Do you desire to be part of the group of overcomers - the Man-Child in Revelation 12:5?Overcomers are NOT spiritual giants; they are normal Christians with a little power (Revelation 3:8).  From the perspective of expressing Christ in oneness, they are full-grown man (Ephesians 4:13).  From the perspective of enjoying Christ as life, they are totally depending upon God like a child (Psalm 8:2, Matthew 18:3, 1 Peter 2:2).

Don't be a child when it comes to the matter of God's building (Ephesians 4:14, Hebrews 5:13).  Don't become independent of God.

(Q7) Is your speaking grace-giving (or are you nagging)?
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for building up, according to the need, that it may give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29). Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt... (Colossians 4:6)

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (Where is this verse?) Our speaking expresses the condition of our heart.  To deal with our speaking, we have to let the Lord deal with our hearts.  When my heart is circumcised (cut off) and filled with grace, spontaneously I would overflow grace in my speaking.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf8TOR1lYd0

(Q8) Are you keeping your room neat and tidy?  Do you sleep / eat / exercise / study regularly?  God is a God of order, regularity and diligence, but are you expressing this aspect of God in your daily living (Ecclesiastes 3:11, Luke 9:14-17, etc.)

As we deny who we are and open ourselves to the Lord helplessly and hopelessly, confessing we are messy and lazy, God's life would come in to shine, supply and regulate.  It is in this way, we are becoming His duplicate in our daily living, expressing who He is through little things.

(Q9) Jesus, the King of kings, was riding on a donkey (Matthew 21:5).  If you were a king, would you choose to ride on a donkey?
看哪,你的王來到你這裡,是溫柔的,騎著驢...
Though Jesus is kingly, He is lowly.  To be as kingly as He is, we have to be made as lowly as He is.  When I am proud, demanding, insisting and dominating, I am not a reflection of this King on a donkey.

(Q10) You are a thornbush all right (Genesis 3:18 ), me too.  We all are cursed due to Adam's fall.  But are you a shining thornbush? (Exodus 3:2-3)

Instead of hurting people all around us, we ought to shine like luminaries, holding forth the word of life (Philippians 2:15-16).
